Homemade Hangover Remedies

Who’s ready for tonight?!

Got your tickets, got your outfit and all that’s left is the partying! Wait, hold on – before you get all excited, maybe it’s time to think of that crazy hangover you’re going to face first thing in the morning.

Here is how we can help: All you need to do is make sure you have everything in your kitchen cupboard.

Bananas

After all that drinking last night and running back and forth to the bathroom, you’ve drained all the potassium from your body. Peel that banana and go for it to give your body a burst of potassium. This will definitely get you back on track to start your day.

Juice

Juice is a must as it helps raise your blood sugar levels. You should definitely go for orange juice, it’s known to work best, unless your stomach is upset, then you can skip acidic juices and maybe go for apple juice instead.

Ginger Root

Ginger has always been known for curing nausea and seasickness, which is pretty much how we feel on Jan. 1!

This easy remedy works wonders. It will literally only take you 10 minutes to do and is guaranteed to make you feel better than ever.

Cut 10 to 12 slices of fresh ginger root and combine with 4 cups of water. Boil for 10 minutes and then strain. Add a cup of orange juice and the juice of half a lemon. Last but not least, add ½ cup of honey.

 Rice, Toast or Soup

We all know that the last thing on your mind is food – you probably feel nauseated just thinking about it. But this is exactly what you need to regain your energy. Start off with some fluids until you feel better enough to actually stand in the kitchen and prepare something to eat. Make sure it’s something easy to digest, such as plain toast, rice or clear soup.

Water

WATER! This is exactly what you need to avoid the hangover in the first place!

Why go through all the remedies we just told you about when you could have drank water all night? Dehydration is actually what causes your body to go through all of the hangover symptoms, from dizzy and tired to an upset stomach.

Ice

Place some crushed ice in a plastic bag and wrap it in a dry towel. Compress the ice where it really hurts. This is for those mystery bruises on your knees and if you feel like your head is going to explode.

WE SAID THIS: We all know it was worth it!
