The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai (RTA) announced, on Saturday, that it will start issuing virtual registration cards with no expiry date. The new e-registration service will come into effect from the 1st of August.

The electronic mechanism will require a virtual registration card, instead of a physical one. However, it will be valid for a lifetime with no need to be renewed annually. The move is part of the RTA’s gradual electronic transformation of all services and Smart City initiative.
“The copy of the e-Registration (Vehicle Driving Permit) will be sent to the client via e-mail, and will appear on RTA app,” stated the official statement.
