Balqees Fathi, the sensational Emirati musician, has been named the new Valentino Di.Va by creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli. This is part of the fashion house’s recent campaign to promote inclusivity and originality. The Italian luxury brand chooses its Di.Va based on the different values they bring to bigger conversations and the Emirati musician is no stranger to that.
To explain the concept a bit more, the brand previously posted on Instagram that “the contemporary need to identify, to belong yet feel different, to risk and to feel strength. The modern Di.Va is a complex character of codes, upheld by inner values.”
The singer shared the news on her Instagram by saying “I am proud to announce that I am a Maison Valentino Di.Va. for the Middle East. To me, it means being part of a community that shares my same values, and with every Valentino piece I wear, I feel liberated and in unconditional love with myself.”
Fathi has been associated with the Italian house before as she attended Valentino’s Fall-Winter Haute Couture show in Rome back in July 2022. She donned a pink dress with cutout details from Valentino’s PP pink collection.
