UAE Expats Celebrate 77th National Day of Pakistan
Pakistani expatriates have come together in large numbers at diplomatic missions in Dubai and Abu Dhabi to mark the 76th Pakistan National Day that pays tribute to the father of the nation Mohammad Ali Jinnah and those who sacrificed their lives for a separate homeland for Muslims.
If you’re one of those people who are currently asking themselves what is Pakistan National Day, let us enlighten you. The day is celebrated every year on March 23rd throughout the country to commemorate the adoption of the Pakistan Resolution by the All India Muslim League on March 23, 1940 at Lahore’s Minto Park which demanded a separate homeland for Muslims in South Asia.
Around 1.4 million Pakistani live the UAE. Pakistan Ambassador to UAE, Moazzam Ahmed Khan, hoisted the flag at the embassy early on Thursday morning in the presence of large number of community members. Young students sang national songs and National Day messages were read out by the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
