UAE Declares Public, Private Sector Holiday on December 11 for Prophet’s Birthday

You know how human beings are programmed to greet each other during the mornings by saying “good morning,” when there’s literally nothing good about it whatsoever? Well, today is not one of those days because it’s actually a good morning. Sunday, December 11 is officially a paid holiday for public and private sector employees in the UAE as the country celebrates the Prophet Mohammed’s birthday.
Saqr Ghobash, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, made the announcement as per the implementation of the provisions of Article 74 of Federal Law No.08 of 1980 concerning labor relations and its amendments.
The minister sent his regards to His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and Their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the seven emirates.
