These Two Egyptian Brothers Swam Around Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah for a Great Cause

Last weekend, brothers Sherif and Omar Saadawi — of Egyptian-Irish descent — swam around the Palm Jumeirah on Friday morning for four hours for a great cause.
The Saadawis started their journey at 5 am, going against all the odds (and jellyfishes) to raise funds and awareness about diabetes in memory of their grandfather who suffered from the disease.

“Diabetes has affected members of my family and it is a cause that is very close to my heart. My grandfather died due to an illness linked to diabetes. My wife’s uncle, who had diabetes, died due to a cardiac arrest almost a year ago. They were too young to die,” Sherif told The National.
“Raising awareness about the importance of leading a healthy life can change the lives of many,” he added.
