TROPFEST ARABIA
To all my aspiring short film makers out there now is your chance to get your picture out in the scene and compete with your fellow arab artists. Don’t know how? All you have to do is sign up on their website tropfest.com/arabia for a chance to join one of their infamous workshops and it will only cost you some imagination and vision. The workshops in Cairo and Alexandria will be hosted by Arab film analyst Alaa Karkouti, supported by Egyptian filmmaker, Tamer Ezzat in Cairo and Egyptian filmmaker and producer, Mohammed Samir in Alexandria this week.
The exclusive workshops on short film creation for aspiring filmmakers will be held in Cairo on Thursday May 3rd at the Cairo Jesuit Center from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm and in Alexandria on Friday, May 4th at the Alexandria Jesuit Center from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm.
“The two hour workshops will outline how to successfully submit a film for TROPFEST Arabia 2012, the short film festival that supports first time and emerging filmmakers. The aim of TROPFEST Arabia is to contribute to the development of the Arab film industry by providing an opportunity for the region’s filmmakers to bring their short films to the community. The second edition of TROPFEST Arabia will take place in Abu Dhabi in October 2012.” Sounds like your cup of tea? Well In order to participate you must be a citizen of the arab region, and submissions must entail the TROPFEST Arabia signature item which this year is ‘2’ therefore incorporate whatever that may mean to you within your short film as it must be used as a creative part in your submission. So dust off your video-recorders Egypt and lets show the world how creative we really are and boost our regions media industry.
