‘TQG’: Shakira’s Latest Song About Piqué Tops Google Search Engine Results
Creating yet another stir across the internet, after releasing her latest single “TQG”, the name of the Colombian singer ‘Shakira’ tops Google’s search engine results. In collaboration with Karol G, Shakira belted out yet another song directed at her ex-husband Gerard Piqué. In the video, we see Shakira dancing it out with Karol G, the duo showing off some slick moves along a backdrop of ice and fire.
The song had fans buzzing on social media, the new single and its rapid number of views on YouTube with one twitter user saying “[TQG]… surpasses 12 million views and 1.9 million likes in 12 hours of its premiere on YouTube.”
This isn’t the first time one of her songs creates an online buzz as a couple of months ago, her single “BZRP Music Sessions #53” amassed 63M views on YouTube in 24 hours, making it the most watched Latin song in YouTube history. It was yet another ballad directed at her ex-husband Piqué and was packed with sharp lyrics like “You swapped a Ferrari for a [Renault] Twingo/You swapped a Rolex for a Casio.”
The global craze behind the artist’s latest music links to her recent separation from Piqué which happened last summer after a 12-year relationship, causing all sorts of reactions. Since then, the Lebanese-Colombian artist has found solace in her music expressing how she feels unfiltered about the breakup and how she’s now “already doing [her] own thing.”
