Together at Home: Emirati Legend Al Jassmi Performs Live in Front of 700k Fans for the Global Citizen Event
Yesterday was a very special and emotional day for hundreds of thousands around the world, as some of the biggest and most talented artists in the world came together for Global Citizen’s “Together At Home”.
Together at Home is an ongoing virtual concert series organized by Global Citizen in support of the World Health Organization. The special is intended to promote the practice of social distancing during the 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic.
Representing the United Arab Emirates and the Arab World was the legendary singer Hussain Al Jassmi, who delivered a monumental performance and made everyone in the Arab World proud! More than 700k were live during Al Jassmi’s performance, where he gave a shout out to the efforts of the UAE in supporting other countries during the pandemic and hoped for the crisis to end soon.
Al Jassmi is one of the most popular singers in the Arab World. In 2008, Al Jassmi received the Murex d’Or award, under the category of “Best Arabic Male Singer.” And his list of achievements and awards is gigantic, with more than 6 million followers on Facebook, 3 million followers on Instagram, and 1.7 billion views on YouTube, and 4 million subscribers. Al Jassmi was also representing his country as the Ambassador of the Dubai Expo 2020!
