The Gift That Keeps on Giving: Mo Salah and His Philanthropy

During times of crisis, it’s the kind gestures that make the world feel like a better place. Mo Salah, who’s already well known for being committed to social issues, charitable deeds and being absolutely loyal to his original home village, Nagrig, has left us speechless once again.

Recently, the 28-year-old Liverpool football player has donated 250 million pounds, paying the full cost of the first ambulance facility to be available in the area as well as supplying medical equipment for local health centers.

In appreciation of his generous gesture, we’ve decided to go through all the charity work he has been doing over the years!

The Salah Foundation

This was definitely not the first time for Salah to splash the cash on his home village, which is mostly where all of his donations go. Through the philanthropy firm that he owns, he focuses on the economically disadvantaged, the young, the elderly, and the disabled, and has been generously contributing all along to help financially boost the overall conditions of the village.

Back in December 2018, Salah donated 900 thousand Egyptian pounds to the Bassioun General Hospital, and his father has given out five acres of land to establish a sewage treatment plant in his village for residents to have a clean source of water. He has also built a school for girls in his hometown for them to have access to proper education close to home. The charity institution also provides a monthly allowance to around 450 families and food donations, where he personally checks on the donations regularly.

Donations to the National Cancer Institute

After the terrorist attack that happened back in 2019 near the institute, where a vehicle loaded with explosives caused 20 deaths and 50 injuries, Salah donated 2.5 million to the institute to help restore its facilities.

Being a UNHCR Ambassador

Mo Salah has also joined the Vodafone Foundation and UNHCR initiative to develop digital learning to allow student refugees access to better learning facilities.

Donations to 57357 Hospital

57357 Hospital specializing in children’s cancer has received a generous 12 million from Salah to help equip the hospital with more updated, sophisticated medical equipment.

Feeding stray dogs

All the previously mentioned initiatives are extremely considerate, yet this kind of activity is maybe the cutest! Not just that he cares for the wellbeing of the people surrounding him, but he has a thing for animals as well. Before gaining fame, he used to carry food all the way from his home to his local club at Bassioun village, just so he can feed newly born puppies.. so wholesome!

We can say with huge confidence that the king of charity, Mo Salah, hasn’t only been a goal-scoring marvel in football matches, but in life as well. His charitable initiatives are legendary and can never be discussed in a single article.

Salah isn’t just a football player but a public figure with a huge influence. He’s undoubtedly the epitome of generosity and kindness, and not getting carried away by fame or wealth but stayed grounded with millions of people looking up to him.

WE SAID THIS: Thank you for making the world a better place, Mo!
