Sheikh Zayed Festival Celebrates New Year’s Eve With Fireworks & Drone Show
While celebrating the New Year, the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Abu Dhabi smashed four Guinness World Records. Three of the records were broken during over 40 minutes of spectacular fireworks, while one was broken during a drone show at Al Wathba. Up to 3,000 drones were in the air, creating a mesmerizing visual experience for the 2023 countdown, and at the other end, the much-anticipated fireworks went out at midnight, making it a sight to behold.
Guinness World Records Adjudicator, Al Waleed Osman confirmed that “the Sheikh Zayed Festival was able to break four records during the event, three of which are for the fireworks display, and a new record was set by the magnificent drone show.”
Osman even expressed his happiness at being there for the 2023 New Year’s festivities and congratulated the planners for continually breaking records to amuse the audience. The great moments of the many shows were captured by Festival attendees and shared online too.
It was not just fireworks as the Emirates Fountain and Laser Shows were able to impress visitors of all ages along with dazzling musicals. There were entertaining international folklore and cultural presentations that roamed the Festival grounds and pavilions, turning the Festival area into a global artistic destination. Additionally, visitors also experienced the art and culture of these countries through cultural dances and live music presentations on the pavilion stages around the grounds.
Thankfully, the public expressed their happiness towards the various exhibitions and shows such as the Heritage Village and the Emirati Civilizations pavilions, the Fun Fair City, Children’s City, Art District, Go-Karting competitions, Crazy Car, Glow and Flower Garden, and Selfie Street.
