Rockify.TV
Most of you have tried Pandora or Grooveshark, the music discovery websites for music. Well, now there is a new startup that has come to town, but for music videos. Rockify.TV, is a new music video discovery website that lets you stream, browse and search for music videos while tracking you preferences in order to recommend new videos according to your taste. So what makes it better than Pandora?
First off, all you need is a sign in with Facebook or Twitter. Secondly, it is not restricted to users in the United States, its open for everyone. And thirdly, its has social media hooks that allows you to find interesting content through your own preferences and those of your friends.
It has a very user friendly layout with very high usability. Once signed in, users get a stream of music videos, based on trending music, personal favorites, and personalized suggestions. It serves up a continuous stream of content, which measn that the user never has to stop and search for a video, unless they want to.
It currently currently has around 200,000 videos on its database, sourced from popular video hosting sites such as YouTube and Vimeo. Running on its own proof of concept platform, which they are willing to license to content publisher at later stage, Rockify has a chance to conquering the online music video field, posing a threat to the likes of VEVO and Cull.tv(which was recently acquired by TwitVid).
