Revolutionizing Transportation: Dubai’s Flying Taxis Set To Launch By 2026
It’s time for us to fasten our seatbelts as Dubai’s transportation system is taking a major launch into the future. Soon to be the first city to operate flying taxis by 2026, these taxis are going to be able to accommodate 4 passengers as well as the pilot and will be able to fly at speeds of up to 300 km per hour.
Its two developers, Skyports, the global developer of vertical port infrastructure and Vertiport, a key partner in the development of the taxis, both believe that Dubai is primed to become the first city in the globe to offer air taxi services.
They will begin operations in 2026 where they will set up four major vertical ports where the taxis will land and take off from. The four locations will be the Dubai International Airport, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina and Dubai Downtown.
The Director General Of Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, Mattar al-Tayer, said that this new transportation system uses innovative technology that will create a new kind of urban transportation that is safer, smooth and more sustainable than the current transportation network.
With three years to go before the launch of the taxis, we are nearing closer to the future of transportation in Dubai that may expand to other cities and continents.
