Ray Dolby Dies at 80
Audio pioneer and founder of Dolby Labrotories Ray Dolby died yesterday at the age of 80 after suffering for a few years from Alzheimer’s, and Leukemia, which he was only diagnosed with in the past couple of months.

Holding over 50 US patents, Dolby has revolutionized the audio engineering industry and set new standards for films using his noise reduction system, which was first introduced in the movie A Clockwork Orange in 1971.
