Rami Malek To Star In 20th Century Production Action Thriller ‘Amateur’
Slow Horses director James Hawes is preparing for his next major studio thriller Amateur, from Disney’s 20th Century Studios, starring Oscar winner Rami Malek. Malek will also be an executive producer on the film alongside X-Men producer Hutch Parker and Dan Wilson.
The story follows a CIA cryptographer reeling in the aftermath of his wife’s death following a terrorist attack in London. The protagonist then demands that his bosses intervene and jump on the case immediately, but the conflicting internal priorities with their line of work prevent them from doing so, leaving him on his own. The cryptographer, feeling devastated and betrayed, decides to blackmail the agency and starts a rigorous training program so that he can pursue the terrorists himself and avenge his wife.
This isn’t the first time the Egyptian actor has participated in an action thriller, Malek played the villain in the action thriller No Time To Die, starring Daniel Craig as James Bond. Of course, he’s most notorious for his brilliant role as Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, and although no further information has been released about the release of the film, we cannot wait to see our very own Rami Malek on screen soon!
