Lucid vs. Tesla: Saudi Arabia’s Electric Car Is Climbing Up The Charts

Making the ultimate statement was Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan, who arrived at the Gulf ministerial meeting in a futuristic Lucid electric car. At that moment, the world shifted its gaze to Saudi Arabia as the kingdom showcased its commitment to innovation without holding back.

By presenting a high-end electric car like Lucid at the meeting, the Kingdom is making it clear that they’re joining the global shift toward sustainability and the future of transportation.

Last year, the Lucid Group opened the first-ever car manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia, which is currently producing Lucid’s groundbreaking electric vehicles for the Kingdom.

This is all in line with the Kingdom’s Saudi Green Initiative, which plans to have 30 percent of its new car sales in the Kingdom be electric by 2030.

That very spirit was exemplified through the words of Peter Rawlinson, CEO and CTO of the Lucid Group who said, “with the support of the Saudi Government, we are proud to drive local talent development in the technology industry. We look forward to delivering Saudi-assembled cars to customers in Saudi Arabia and beyond.”

A bigger prospect for the Lucid Group is its ambition to compete with electric vehicle industry giants, including Tesla. Lucid Motors is truly trying to position itself as a pioneer in the electric vehicle industry by using state-of-the-art technology.

Soon, it’ll cater to a market that values both sustainability and luxury.
