Egyptian cinema is beginning the decade with a strong attitude and with a very anticipated movie called Banat Thanawy with a very promising cast. The movie is expected to premiere in cinemas on the 7th of January, and everyone is super excited about it.
The long-awaited film will feature Jamila Awad, May El Ghety, Mohamed El Sharnoby, Huda El Mufty, Tamer Hashem, Mayan El Sayed, and more! It’s written by Ayman Salama, directed by Mahmoud Kamel, and produced by Ahmed El Sobky.
We asked Jamila about her feelings and expectations for the movie and she said “I am so excited about my first lead role and the different character I’m playing. I play a teenage girl who goes to a public school, and it’s my first time to represent this social class,” Awad said.
We also asked her about how she prepared for the movie and she said “I prepared for this role by observing some public school girls and to know how they behave, how they talk and how they express their problems. Although there were some difficult scenes in the film that required several complex reactions, the whole experience was interesting and there was great chemistry between us behind the scenes, as it’s a female-led cast and we are all nearly the same age with common thoughts and sense of humor,” The talented starlet added.
