‘The French Montana Story: For Khadija’ is set to debut on Paramount+ on November 19, following its Tribeca Film Festival premiere last year.

Directed by Mandon Lovett, the documentary dives into the rapper’s inspiring immigrant journey and the sacrifices made by his mother, who raised him and his siblings in the Bronx after their father left. The film chronicles Montana’s rise from creating street DVDs to signing with major labels and producing hit songs.

From Morocco to the Bronx: An Immigrant’s Journey

Born Karim Kharbouch, French Montana immigrated to the U.S. from Morocco at age 13. Settling in the Bronx, he built his career with Cocaine City DVDs, which eventually led to record deals with Bad Boy Records and Maybach Music Group. His debut studio album, Excuse My French, featuring stars like Drake and Rick Ross, cemented his place in hip-hop.

The Making of ‘For Khadija’

Produced by Live Nation Productions for MTV Entertainment Studios, the documentary not only sheds light on Montana’s rise but also honors his mother’s relentless dedication to her family.

Despite initial involvement, Sean “Diddy” Combs is no longer an executive producer due to his ongoing legal battles. The documentary will also be available in the UK and Australia on November 20.
