With old constraints abolished, Saudi Arabia is on the brink of a new renaissance that prioritizes the growth of art and self-expression. Nowadays, Saudi Arabian artists can now showcase their artistic talents and unique ideas with little to no restrictions.
For the better part of three years, The Kingdom has been on the right track to becoming a hub for the arts in the region, with new projects and events that highlight the new culture that has taken the country by storm. These include concerts, art galleries and film festivals.
In light of this, Riyadh is to host MDLBEAST SOUND STORM, the region’s largest music festival from December 16 to 19, for the third year in a row.
Armin Van Buuren, David Guetta, Deadmau5, DJ Snake, Martin Garrix, Tiesto, Steve Aoki, Adam Beyer, Amelie Lens, Carl Cox, Charlotte de Witte, Jeff Mills, Nina Kraviz and Sven Vath are among the hottest names on the event’s roaster. Additionally, well-known Arab artists such as Tamer Hosny, Amr Diab, Asala and Elissa will shine and rock the house!
MDLBEAST chief executive Ramadan Al-Haratani stated that security is a top concern for the festival, adding that much planning has gone into bringing in security personnel and setting up security posts to make guests feel safer. With that said, he also stated that any type of harassment will not be tolerated and will be severely punished, saying:
Harassment of any kind, as well as illegal substances on the ground, will not be tolerated. All of the employees have been educated to avoid this. We encourage everyone to read and review our code of conduct, which is available on our website.

Indeed, Saudi Arabia is experiencing a Renaissance era that has highlighted the importance of the arts in the growth of its civilization. The Red Sea Film Festival, for example, rolled out its red carpet this year to promote Saudi cinema to the world. While, the introduction of ‘Wadi Cinema,’ which aims to promote independent films and encourage individual filmmakers in bringing their thoughts to life, has given the country a unique take on independent filmmaking. Also, we must not overlook Saudi Arabia’s growing numbers of art galleries, which have been promoting local art.
With their huge efforts to spread and increase awareness for people to become more interested in arts, Saudi Arabia is proving to the world that it is a nation that values arts and talent above all else. In addition, It is the government’s responsibility to increase society’s intellectual capacity, which in turn fosters healthy, unique individuals.
