Family Hosts 200 Homeless People for Dinner After Daughter’s Wedding Gets Called Off
I think 40 days is a long enough time for anyone to cancel their wedding reception and get a refund.
But instead of throwing months and thousands of dollars of wedding planning down the drain, a family in the U.S. took kindness to a whole new level. Instead of feeling sad and depressed like anyone would, they decided to do something grateful.
Tamara was supposed to get married at the Villa Christina Catering Hall in Atlanta, but instead of calling it off, they came up with this generous idea: They decided to invite 200 of the city’s homeless instead. They offered them the exact four-course meal planned for the canceled wedding.
Tamara’s mother said that even her daughter attended the event, adding, “She was also very delighted to see and know that others had an opportunity to enjoy something, rather than just all it to go to waste.”
Not only did they feed 200 homeless people, but they also made sure the children that attended had fun as well by hiring a clown to entertain them.
Following the success of their last-minute event, which they called “The First Annual Fowler Family Celebration of Love,” the family is now planning to host a yearly charity dinner.
