Egypt’s All-Female Flight Crew Proves That the Sky Is the Limit, Literally
Nile Air has just launched Egypt’s first all-female flight crew led by pilot Nareen Salem and co-pilot Fatma Soliman. The record-breaking flight was operated between Cairo, Egypt and Al-Jawf, KSA on September 5th, to empower women and encourage more Egyptian women to pursue careers in aviation.
The airlines’ CEO, Ahmed Aly, has announced that the main reason behind launching this flight is to reinforce the goal of attracting more women to flight professions, and highlighting the importance of women’s roles in the corporate world. “This symbolic flight will prove to women, especially in Egypt, that there is no limit to the careers they can pursue,” Aly added.
WE SAID THIS: We contacted pilot Nareen Salem for a more in-depth commentary, but unfortunately, Nile Air has suspended any form of interviews for the time being.
