Could Nadine Labaki And Oprah Winfrey Be The Next Friendship Goals?

Ever since the release of Nadine Labaki’s Capharnaüm last year, 2018, the Lebanese filmmaker has been making waves. From the Cannes Jury Prize to the latest Oscar nomination, the film has been garnering massive international attention, but can the world acclaim possibly result into a potential friendship with none other than Oprah Winfrey?

During last month’s buzz around Capharnaüm’s Oscar nomination, the world’s favorite TV Host and Producer, Oprah Winfrey, praised Labaki’s masterpiece. “These 2 are so compelling on screen and worthy of your time. The story of a young boy who sues his parents for having children they can’t take care of, makes you think of all the children for whom this story is a daily reality. Bravo team #Capernaum,” Winfrey tweeted.

Last week, Oprah invited Labaki over for lunch, along with husband Khaled Mouzanar, Producer, Songwriter, and Composer. The American TV personality shared a lovely photo with the couple saying, “Look who came for lunch director extraordinaire @nadinelabaki and her producer husband Khaled. I love their movie #Capernaum so much. If you get the chance, see it!”

Fans went crazy and to give them a little bit more, Labaki didn’t hesitate to repost the photo and respond. “My queen @oprah. This moment spent in your home talking about life and the ways to change the world will always be one of those moments Khaled and I will remember forever. Your humility and warmth are such a beautiful example to follow. You have this aura very few people have in life. Thank you for allowing this beautiful moment to happen and thank you for the love and support to our #Capernaum. I hope the next time we meet we’ll be having breakfast in Lebanon our home and we’ll be having the beautiful cedar mountains as a background,” she wrote.
