By Sarah Alblowi
We’ve been talking about diversity in the fashion industry, and although we love seeing Versace and Balmain, Arab fashion designers are ever growing on the red carpets. Beyond Ellie Saab and Zuhair Murad, stylists to celebrities are becoming more familiar with Middle Eastern brand names, and we’re excited!
Here are all the superstars that were dressed to impress in Arab brands at the 91st Academy Awards ceremony:
The Lebanese director’s film, Capharnaum, was nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film award. She wore a white one sleeve dress with ruffles by none other than the fashion icon, Elie Saab.
The cute Barbie dress by Georges Chakra embellished with crystals and a long tail, the ultimate feminine dress.
Dressed by talented beauty, Reem Acra, the actress rocked the vibrant pink mermaid style gown with a big poof on her shoulder.
Another amazing dress by Ellie Saab, Hudson looked effortlessly elegant. The dress accentuated her hips and legs so effortlessly.
Celebs can’t get enough of Ellie Saab and we don’t blame them! The Cinderella gown with flowers is unlike any of his other dresses on the red carpet.
The mom-to-be wore a stunning burgandy lace gown by Reem Acra. She looked healthy and glowing with black earrings and matching burgundy lips.
Crystals from head to toe, the lavish look is proudly designed by Zuhair Murad. Paired with silver accessories and Hollywood waves, what a gatsby mood!
Julia Robert’s ended the ceremony in her bright pink gown and shoes. Wearing no other than Ellie Saab.
Kendall’s daring dress is giving us model legs envy. The revealing dress by Rami Kadi took the leg slit all the way to the hips. The jaw-dropping shimmery back dress with silver details was one of the Oscars’ most talked about.
Rami Ali dressed the bronzed beauty in a beautiful orange dress. The ruffles scream spring and it’s hard to look away!
Not a gown, but an Arab designer! Egyptian Azza Fahmy’s Wing Collar and rings looked just perfect on Starke and we’re very proud.
Famous for Scoop With Raya, the beauty wore a strapless navy blue dress by Lama Askari; we can’t get over the blue feathers. She was also accessorized by Azza Fahmy; it’s safe to say she supports Arab brands.
Kuwaiti Designer, Yousef Aljasmi dressed the blonde beauty and gave her a Jessica Rabbit moment with that red crystalized dress.
Egyptian luxury bag brand, Okhtein, made its debut on the Oscars’ red carpet! Red haired, Hasley rocked their bag with her fine blue and brown gown.
