Sia Headlines Byblos International Festival in Lebanon and We’re Swinging from Chandeliers
The Byblos International Festival brings together some of the most talented performers, singers and musicians in Lebanon. In a country that truly treasures performing arts, with previous festivals that hosted the likes of John Legend, Marcel Khalife, Lana Del Rey, Kadim El Sahir, B.B. King, and many more talents reigning from the Arab world and abroad.
Lebanon’s renowned performer Carole Samaha will open the festival on Jul. 15 just in time to sing the new tunes from her 2016 Zekrayati. Samaha’s performance is expected to be a massive show with a chorus, musicians and dancers. Along with regional talents, Byblos will host international musical icons including Brazil’s very own Toquinho & Maria Creuza and Maxime le Forestier from France.
The most sensual saxophonist of our time, Kenny G, will take the Byblos stage on Jul. 21 to play some of the most classic jazz hits of the 80s. Jamaican native and 80s bond girl Grace Jones will bring her iconic femme fatal vocals to the festival on Jul. 24.
A regional favorite, Opera Hishik Bishik will take the stage on Jul. 31 to put on their popular interpretation of classic Egyptian cabaret. The most epic Arab band of our generation, Mashrou’ Leila, will rock Byblos and continue to rock the Arab world on Aug. 5. Closing out the festival on Aug. 9 will be our favorite chandelier swinger: Sia!
