Alaa ElSheikh Hilariously Shares His Experience with the Egyptian Nutella
We are all for going local amid our economic crisis. We here at Scoop Empire have been eating Katakito chocolate instead of Loacker, as well as spending weeks in Midan ElGame3 to buy light units instead of getting them from IKEA. Oh, and we can’t afford Zara anymore. Yet, there are some products that are so iconic, foodgasmic and fantastic that it’s a crime of nature to try re-create a local version of it.
Alaa ElSheikh, hilarious stand-up comedian and creative director in Tayarah, went live last night on Facebook after his painful experience with the local version of Nutella, Rotella. We are very happy that someone finally said it out loud. Not all Egyptian-made products are edible or usable. We will support our local market, but just give us quality, people.
WE SAID THIS: Nutella will always be our #1 bae.
