An astounding sight is in store for those who look up at the sky tonight, thanks to the supermoon. Tonight’s supermoon will be the closest full moon to Earth since 1948, and those who miss out won’t be able to see the moon this close again until 2034. Here are some of the best places to see the supermoon in Cairo.
Mukattam
Imagine feeling like you’re on top of the world (well, just Cairo, really) with the supermoon as your view.
Grand Nile Tower
You can enjoy a nice meal at the Revolving restaurant and feast your eyes on the panoramic view of the Nile (feat. supermoon).
The Giza Pyramids
As if one of the world’s seven wonders isn’t enough. You can chill by any of the cafes or restaurants (from KFC to Abu Shakra) as the supermoon takes over the sky.
Felucca (preferably Maadi)
Because the Maadi ones are much darker and quieter at night. We also recommend going before sunset and bring your own nibbles and drinks for a better experience.
Azhar Park
The Citadel looks majestic enough as it is, imagine having the supermoon next to it.
Wadi Degla
Wadi Degla is a great place to throw a BBQ party, or just to stargaze. Put a supermoon on top of that and you’re good to go.
WE SAID THIS: Bask in that extra 30% of moonlight and head to the best vantage points in your capital city.
