This Egyptian Guy Quit Being a Corporate Slave to Become Just a GoPro-er
Like most Egyptians, Mazen Yassen was a corporate slave before he decided to quit everything, travel, follow his dreams of creating videos using his GoPro, and earn money from it.
It all started last year when Yassen bought his first ever GoPro. “I’ve been stuck in the corporate world since 2002, I had ambitions to reach the position of a regional manager,” he told us. “During that time, I got some videos posted online and they made a lot of great impressions to the extent that a company had reached out to recruit me for a video production. The amount of money I got in return made me seriously think about quitting, until I took the step and actually resigned.”
“I never regretted leaving my job for freelancing, not for one bit.” he tells us. In fact, he has everything sorted out. Yassen says that he currently makes more money than when he was a slave in the corporate world. Now, he works on his own time intervals rather than being restricted to working hours, and travel around without worrying over money getting deducted from his salary.
Now that he has his life planned ahead of him, he tells us that the one thing he would advise video/travel bloggers is to “keep their cameras rolling.” People tend to be scared and hesitant on what to shoot and how to. Yassen tells us there’s nothing wrong with being scared, it’s only wrong when you let it stop you from pursuing your dream.
