Royal Baby, Take Two
The Swedish monarchy will soon be graced with baby royalty. Sweden’s Princess Madeleine, the younger sister of Crown Princess Victoria, and her husband, New York banker Christopher O’Neill, are expecting their first child next spring.
“Princess Madeleine and Mr. Christopher O’Neill are delighted to announce that the princess is expecting their first child. The birth is expected to take place in beginning of March of 2014,” the palace said.
This announcement comes almost exactly three months after the princess had her fairytale wedding last June.
The palace also said that the pregnancy would not affect Madeleine’s schedule this fall, or her work for the World Childhood Foundation, a nonprofit founded by her mother, Queen Silvia.
The happy couple now live in their apartment in Manhattan, New York, maintaining a lower profile quite the opposite of Madeleine’s former party princess life. It’s worth mentioning that O’Neill did not claim a title or royal rank after the wedding and chose to remain a private citizen. Congrats to the newlyweds!
