Haaland once gave us an unexpected glimpse into Marmoush’s life off the pitch — and let’s just say, the Egyptian forward should probably stick to football.
The Norwegian posted a video of Marmoush enthusiastically singing along to an Egyptian song during karaoke, except there was one tiny problem: the singing was… questionable. Haaland shared the clip with a “WTF” caption and a string of laughing emojis, making it very clear that he was absolutely not going to let his teammate live it down.
Because apparently, if you’re Omar Marmoush, even a casual karaoke night with your teammates can turn into public humiliation courtesy of Erling Haaland.
Marmoush Calls Haaland Out for Showing Off in Training
Haaland may be one of the best strikers in the world, but Marmoush clearly isn’t giving him a free pass to show off.
During a Manchester City training session, Haaland pulled off a ridiculous scissor-kick finish past Stefan Ortega, the kind of goal that would normally have everyone stopping to applaud. Marmoush, however, immediately decided it was less “world-class finish” and more “please, we know you did that for the cameras.”
He jokingly accused Haaland of performing for the cameras, repeating that the whole thing was “for the camera.” Haaland played along, asking where the camera was and whether Marmoush had actually managed to capture the moment.
A perfect little glimpse into their dynamic: one does something outrageous, and the other refuses to let him enjoy it in peace.
Haaland Comforts Marmoush After His Costly FA Cup Penalty Miss
Not every Haaland x Marmoush moment was about messing around. After Marmoush missed a crucial penalty in Manchester City’s 2025 FA Cup final defeat to Crystal Palace, Haaland was there to console his teammate.
Marmoush had been handed the responsibility by Haaland, who later admitted that he should have taken the penalty himself and took full responsibility for putting the new signing in that position. City ultimately lost 1-0 to Palace, with Eberechi Eze’s first-half goal securing the trophy.
Speaking to TIME, Haaland said he had a good feeling about giving Marmoush the penalty but acknowledged that he should have taken it himself. And in the footage from the aftermath, Haaland can be seen embracing Marmoush — a much softer side of their relationship after a genuinely painful moment.
Because apparently, being the older-brother figure also comes with mandatory emotional-support duties.
Marmoush Celebrates His Goal by Hugging Haaland
When Marmoush found the back of the net with Haaland providing the assist, the celebration was basically a friendship announcement without the caption.
Marmoush immediately made his way over to Haaland, and the two shared a huge hug as their teammates joined in on the celebrations. There was no complicated choreography, no elaborate celebration routine — just Marmoush finding the guy who had helped create the goal and going straight in for the hug.
After all the teasing between them, it was a pretty wholesome reminder that underneath the jokes, the two genuinely seem to enjoy playing together.
