During a high-level United Nations meeting in New York on the two-state solution, Egypt announced its readiness to host an international conference on Gaza’s reconstruction once a ceasefire is reached. Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, speaking on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, said the goal of the conference is to mobilize funding for rebuilding what has been destroyed by the Israeli assault and to work with the Palestinian government to restore stability in Gaza.

He also stressed that lasting peace in the Middle East is only possible through a just resolution that guarantees the Palestinian people their right to an independent state.
