Binge-Worthy: Egyptian Series Hitting Screens Soon

By: Rawan El Hadary

There’s a surge of Egyptian series making their way to online platforms like Shahid, WATCH IT, and Netflix! People are now thrilled to see shows airing outside the traditional Ramadan marathon.

We recently watched Omar Afandy, which explores the lively 1940s, and Finding Ola 2, which highlights the challenges of a divorced working mother. With stories like these, there’s always something interesting to see!

In the upcoming months, even more interesting series are set to drop, catering to every taste. Let’s take a look at what you can expect to hit your screens soon!

Mat’am El Habayeb

Fans of the duo Ahmed Malek and Huda El Mufti are in for a treat with a fresh comedy series set in a family-owned restaurant. Ahmed Malek plays Chef Sobhi, an oriental chef who decides to help Huda El Mufti’s character after she inherits her family’s restaurant despite lacking any culinary skills.

With unexpected twists and heartfelt moments, director Essam Abdel Hamid combines comedy and suspense in this light-hearted, family-centered series that blends romance and laughter. It’s coming soon, October 3rd! We can’t wait.

Eqama Gabreya

In a surprising twist, Hana El Zahed steps away from her usual comedic roles to star in a psychothriller. Working alongside Mohamed El Sharnoubi and Sabreen, Hana seems to play a disturbed woman in an eerie setting, which is very far from the comical atmosphere where she usually shines.

The trailer for this gripping short series by Ahmed Samir Farag was recently released, announcing that it will soon be available on WATCH IT.

6 Shuhoor

Nour El Nabawy steps into his first leading role in the TV drama 6 Shuhoor, another WATCHIT production directed by Mostafa El Soly. While details about the series are still limited, the recently released teaser has already piqued viewers’ curiosity. It looks like it might be a comedy.

Maw’ed Ma’a Al Mady

Asser Yassin dazzles once again in a Netflix thriller directed by Sadeer Massoud, where he takes on the gut-wrenching role of a brother wrongfully imprisoned for his sister’s murder. Burdened by a crime he didn’t commit, he emerges from prison, determined to find and capture the true culprit.

Although the release date for this highly anticipated series is still unconfirmed, the star-studded cast, featuring Huda El Mufti, Mahmoud Hemida, Sherine Reda, Saba Mubarak, and Rakeen Saad, has already generated excitement, promising to add depth to this story.

With such a mix of genres and stories, there’s plenty to look forward to this season. Which one are you most excited about?
