Reviving Emirati Identity: Check Out the New Cultural Festival Taking Place in Dubai This Month!
A few days ago the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority announced that it will host the first season of ‘Al Shindagha Days’ in an effort to revive Emirati culture. The festival will be held from January 9th till the 18th.
The 10-day festival aims to provide visitors and tourists an overview of Emirati traditions and heritage. It also allows them to establish a link between the ‘new’ and ‘old’ Dubai, and see the city in a new light.
During the festival, visitors can enjoy a boat display, a light and sound show, traditional Emirati performances, and much more. Visitors can also learn about Emirati craftsmanship through Al Shindagha Door Exhibition, enjoy a live Emirati cooking station, and a date tasting station from Meet the Locals, an Emirati tourism company. There will also be a number of entrepreneurs and artists showcasing their installations.
The festival is part of the 25th edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF), which is held from December 26th, 2019 to February 1st, 2020.
