9 Beautiful Pictures of Lebanese People Celebrating Their 74th Independence Day

After 23 years of the French mandate, Lebanon finally gained its independence on the 22nd of November 1943! The mandate system was expected to differ from colonialism, with the governing country acting as a trustee — until the inhabitants are able to stand on their own. At that particular point, the mandate would have been terminated and an independent state would be born.

 

Ever since then, the Lebanese people celebrated their independence on that day by military parades, displaying the flag of Lebanon, fireworks, concerts and general celebration of Lebanon’s heritage.
