5 Signs You Shouldn’t Be in a Relationship
As challenging as they may be, we go through phases when we just really shouldn’t be with anyone else – for their sake and for our own. It’ll get lonely and boring, not gonna lie, but the responsible choice would be to suck it up and get to work on what really matters – what’s within.
1. Karma
Karma is a bitch and she’s hilarious. She kicks you in the ass right after slapping you in the face. If you’ve wronged a lover in the past, you best believe that that baggage is going to catch up to you right when it’ll hurt the most. And it. will. hurt.
2. You don’t know what you want
If you aren’t absolutely sure about what you want from a person or a relationship, you shouldn’t be with them. You’ll end up hurting them or yourself or both.
3. You still gravitate to your old, unhealthy dating patterns
AKA your comfort zone. Like falling for jerks or people who are unavailable to you. Have you ever heard of emotional self-harm? In these situations, you end up just torturing yourself.
4. You still think you can have everything
A healthy and happy relationship takes hard work and sacrifice. It’s a choice you make daily, together, not something that just happens. If you think someone is just going to come along and you’ll live happily ever after, you’re delusional and in denial, my friend.
5. Basically, you need to work on yourself first
Trust issues, commitment issues, mommy or daddy issues… no one is going to fix these things for you. And if someone is trying to “save” you or you’re trying to “save” someone else, you’re doing it wrong.
