Nothing makes Arabs prouder than witnessing the UAE’s growth in a region that has been greatly shaken by revolutions and wars. H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Prime Minister and Vice-President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, keeps raising the bar on being a successful and beloved leader. Nothing seems impossible or unique enough when it comes to the Emirates.

From the world’s largest tower that just got struck by lightning, the largest indoor ski hall, the most majestic fountain show to preparing a space exploration probe mission to Mars, the country is unstoppable. In hopes to provide the best living experiences for locals and expats, as well as leading the artificial world, the UAE has launched different unique ministries that we wish every country had.

Ministry of Possibilities

Because the UAE is the land of innovation, the world’s first virtual Ministry of Possibilities to incubate and develop radical solutions for the government’s most critical challenges has been launched yesterday. The role of the ministry is to provide proactive and disruptive solutions to critical issues that seem unsolvable.

“The reality we are experiencing in the UAE today is a product of unconventional leadership. We need modern systems to make our unconventional ambitions a reality,” Sheikh Mohamed said. The unconventional ministry will function without a minister but by the help of the whole cabinet.

Ministry of Happiness

In an unprecedented move in the Gulf region, the UAE dedicated a whole ministry to overlook policies, plans, and programs that will help promote happiness amongst society. In the first year, many successful initiatives were launched as Happy and Positive Offices, Customer Happiness Formula, and Happiness and Positivity Councils.

Ministry of Tolerance

What better way to end racism and enhance the sense of community in the land of expats other than launching a whole ministry dedicated to their welfare. In a mission to eradicate ideological, cultural, and religious bigotry in the UAE in 2016, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum announced structural changes in the cabinet and Sheikha Lubna Al-Qasimi was appointed the first the Minister of State for Tolerance.

Living in a digital world only means one thing for the UAE, launching a Ministry of Artificial Intelligence. National Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031 aims at positioning the UAE as a global leader in artificial intelligence by 2031, and to develop an integrated system that employs artificial intelligence in vital areas in the UAE.

“We have launched a national strategy for artificial intelligence to make an integral part of our business, our lives, and our government services,” Sheikh Mohamed said.

The strategy includes eight objectives; reaffirming the UAE’s position as a global hub for artificial intelligence (AI), increasing the competitive edge of the AI sector in the UAE, and establishing an incubator for AI innovations. In addition to employing AI in the field of customer services to improve the quality of life, attracting and training talents for jobs of the future, attracting leading research capabilities, providing a data-driven infrastructure to support AI experiments, and optimizing AI governance and regulations.
