Finally, some great news to wake up to! The National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC), in association with Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD), have just announced that they’re launching an initiative that’ll see the capital’s waterways and beaches get cleaned up.

The six-month project, which started from Saadiyat Island, will see the clean-up of over 30 million square metres of water bodies and over six million square metres of sea floor. The drive will cover beaches, tourist spots, industrial and residential areas.

Meanwhile in the rest of the UAE, more than 100,000 volunteers have collected over 110 tonnes of waste during a nationwide clean-up drive yesterday. The 10-day Emirates Environmental Group initiative, organised across 146 locations, is considered the UAE’s biggest environmental clean-up to date.

“The 15th edition of the Clean-Up UAE campaign is one of the country’s most successful initiatives in community engagement and reflects our keenness to protect the environment,” said Habiba Al Marashi, EEG chairperson.

WE SAID THIS: Always give back to the community.
