Azza fahmy Celebrates Nubia in Her Latest Collection.
There is only one queen who embodies culture and heritage through crafts and art like no other and it’s Azza Fahmy. Whether it’s ancient Egypt, Greece, or the modern-day gypsy, loyal Fahmy customers get to flaunt a piece of history in every piece they wear. The latest collection is a true tribute to Egypt’s hidden gem: Nubia.
Captured through the lens of travel photographer Coucla Refaat, Fahmy’s collection was showcased all over Aswan, where Nubia turns into the designer’s very personal showroom.
“I carry in my blood a part of Egypt and Sudan, having an Egyptian father and a Sudanese mother, whom I remember as an angel. I guess that explains my deep nostalgia for southern Egypt and its people”, Said the jewelry designer.
Azza Fahmy fell in love with the Nubian culture after being introduced to its beauty during her studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts. The cheerful and colorful Nubian houses and the artistic touch women add to the interiors are just some of the things that Fahmy reminisce about.
“Nubia Nostalgia” collection came to life during a trip to India where the designer came across a blue jewel that reminded her of Nubia’s beauty, where houses are covered in gold and silver by the River Nile and Naser’s lake. Don’t you just love everything by the phenomenon designer?
