ZILZAL: The Brand Celebrating Women and Challenging Arab Stereotypes

It’s nice to see new brands launching, but what’s better is when these brands have a specific vision and purpose to spread a message and break common stereotypes in Arab societies.

Launched just a week ago, ZILZAL Studio is a new fashion brand that supports social issues and taboos that affect the lives of women across the region. “All of our clothing is unisex and comes in a wide range of sizes because no body type should be compromised,” says their website’s About section.

Their first-ever collection is called “Bent Nas” (daughter of people), which is an Arabic phrase used to describe women who come from reputable or honorable families and do not “stray away from society’s definition of femininity”. And although they’ve just started, they’ve already run out of stock!
