Why Are Dogs Being Confiscated in Alex? Here’s What You Need To Know About the New Regulations

Via Urban Matter

News is circulating on social media that dogs are being confiscated from their owners in Alexandria while out walking them by the beaches, regardless of the size or breed of the dog. As you can see, even very small dog breeds are being taken away from their owners as well.

It was announced last month that there are new regulations that dog owners should follow in streets and public spaces. According to sources, dog owners cannot walk with their dogs in public spaces without their muzzle, a leash that’s in the hand of the owner, and a collar with the license and registered number of the dog.

The sources add that those who do not follow these regulations will have to pay a fine of EGP 1,000 and have their dogs confiscated from them until everything is settled, with the owners paying for all the expenses of accommodating the dogs.
