Who’s Playing This Weekend? A Breakdown of Sahel’s Shorelines Festival Line-Up

This weekend-long event takes place in Almaza Bay on Egypt’s North Coast in the Mediterranean Sea’s crystal-clear waters. Yes, we are talking about Shorelines Festival. The Shoreline Music Festival came to Egypt on July 16 of last year, as its 2020 version was postponed because of the pandemic. However, starting on Thursday, July 21 till Saturday, July 23, the Shorelines Festival will feature an unparalleled line-up of musicians and an experience like no other, purely because there is no other experience on the North coast that can compare. One of the advantages that the Shorelines Festival offer is being able to conveniently party, and enjoy Almaza’s stunning beaches while staying in one of Travco properties’ hotels. Also, keep in mind the unmatched location as it is the only festival to happen in the Sahel. From techno to jazz, and classical music, this festival has it all! Let’s get to know more about these artists who are ready to blow up the stage with their fine tunes.

Frogmoose

A music producer, beatboxer, drummer, DJ, and writer who began his musical and artistic career at the age of 15. Since 2006, Frogmoose has been active in Egypt’s underground music scene. On Thursday, July 21 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., he will serve as the Shorelines Festival’s opening act.

Dirty Backseat

Indie rocker Moe Hani, popularly known as Dirty Backseat, is a Cairo native who has gained fame for his work as a music producer, guitarist, and composer. He is the most recent iteration of Dirty Backseat since the concept’s founding in 2017 as a duet with Noha Amin, which resulted in the 2018 release of their debut album, Goobad. He will perform on stage from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 21 to excite the crowd.

Rootzadelics

 A big fan of Dub and Reggae? Well, Rootzadelics is here to give you a one-of-a-kind performance for those longing for some Bob Marley vibes. From 7 pm to 8 pm, you can enjoy the band’s performance and the melodies that will soothe your soul for sure.

Hashem

Hashem, a force to be reckoned with, will perform some melodies from 8 pm to 10 pm to get the crowd into an unrivaled beat and groove. Because of the positive vibes he provides, he is one of the performers that attendees have been anticipating.

Session Victim

Matt Reiling and Hauke Freer also known as Session Victim, are known for their fantastic live performances and vinyl-only DJ sets. They possess unmatched energy and passion. Their success is verifiable evidence that if you’re creating music out of genuine enthusiasm and friendship, it will touch souls. From 10:15 to 11:30 p.m., they will be performing, and we can’t wait!

Kid Farncescoli

Kid Francescoli have been filling the biggest and best clubs in France for years with their mix of folk and electronic pop, tinged with R&B. Now, he will take his exceptional talent to Almaza Bay’s Shorelines Festival and put on a. show from 11:45 pm to 12:45 a.m.

Folamour

French DJ/producer Folamour has taken the vibrant aesthetics of disco and added a large amount of house groove to create tunes for the crowds. From 12:45 and 3 in the morning, Folamour will give a show for those who enjoy disco/funk music.

Akladios

Akladios, a musician from Cairo, moves seamlessly between minimal and groovy house music. She has performed all around Egypt as a DJ among the top national and international performers, such as Jamie Jones and Peggy Gou. She has also given performances in Bucharest, Berlin, Beirut, Dubai, and Amman. The second day of the Shorelines Festival, on Friday, July 22, will feature her performance from 1 to 3 pm.

Marc Wahba

Marc’s name was instantly recognized when he began his career as a DJ working at Electrum Records with Samba. Then he established his own event-planning business, “Heart Soul & Mind,” giving Cairo’s nightlife a completely fresh perspective that offers more than just going out and having a good time. He’ll return from 3 to 5 PM, though, to give the crowd what they want: some electrifying rhythms!

Flamingo Pier

Flamingo Pier is a musical group that plays music and sometimes DJs from 5 pm to 6 pm, they are set to perform a wide variety of musical genres as they mostly care about having a great time, so you can even sense their love of music in general. You’ll undoubtedly be in for a treat when they perform.

CAPYAC

French house band CAPYAC is based in Austin, Texas. Each of the performers contributes to CAPYAC’s distinctive brand of lunacy, making their stage performances a true storm of action. With excellent production and a long list of supporting cast members, their albums effortlessly transition across genres while maintaining a constant vision that is audibly and viscerally palpable. Prepare yourselves since they’ll be on stage from 6:15 pm to 7:15 pm.

Junø

We haven’t heard anything quite like Junø’s upbeat music in the region. You should definitely look forward to seeing her play. Her song “Power of She” is a must-listen. She will play between 7:25 pm and 8:25 pm with some eerie tunes.

Sports

From 8:35 pm to 9:35 pm, Sports, and no not physical sports, but Sports the band will be firing it up at the Shorelines Festival. They play psychedelic R&B with indie rock from the South West. The band is made up of brothers Christian and Jacob Theriot and longtime friend Cale Chronister, they have been playing together for a decade, including five years in their current form.

Thievery Corporation

Rob Garza and Eric Hilton make up the American electronic music duo known as Thievery Corporation. Their music incorporates elements of hip-hop, electronica, dub, acid jazz, reggae, Indian classical, Middle Eastern music, and bossa nova from Brazil. They’ll be on stage from 10 pm to 11:15 pm.

Hisham Zahran

For the after-party at the Shorelines Festival club, Hisham Zahran will perform from 11:30 pm till 1 am. Expect to hear deep house which makes him an in-demand DJ on the global club circuit. he toured the world making stops in Brazil, Mexico, Spain, The United States, and Germany among others.

Audiofly

Audiofly is a standout for the after-party at the Shorelines Festival club from 1 am to 4 am as well. Legendary producers Anthony Middleton and Luca Saporito founded the group (with 13 years behind them as a creative partnership). In an effort to create their own distinctive sounds, they are both always searching for new opportunities. Audiofly is a seasoned and well-respected partnership that is dedicated and unparalleled in its pursuit of this contemporary music lifestyle.

Tata

Tata, a Nacelle Artist Booker & Spinning Records veteran, will light up the stage on Saturday, July 23, from 1 pm to 3 pm. with his groovy tunes and infectious sounds. He is a rising star who has performed for prestigious venues all over the world while on tour.

Alan- K

The Alan-K project was initially founded by producers Mada Khaled and Sherif Asfour, and it ultimately expanded to include drummer Sherif El-Gharib, bass guitarist Hisham El Manasterly, and guitarist/songwriter Zonfol. They primarily play dream pop music with psychedelic undertones and a relaxed coastal rock mood. They’ll be on stage from 3 pm to 4 pm.

Aly Goede

Aly Goede, a DJ in Egypt’s developing tech scene, will close the Shorelines Festival from 4 pm to 7 pm. To make his audience happy, he produces a variety of melodies, noises, and beats. You can relax to his soothing music and soothing sounds, but his remixes will keep you dancing.
