#WhereIsBana: Twitter Account of 7-Year-Old Syrian Girl Disappears
A 7-year-old girl whose tweets from besieged eastern Aleppo drew worldwide attention has disappeared from Twitter amid an army offensive.
The last message that was tweeted on Alabed’s page, which she shared with her mother Fatemah, read, “We are sure the army is capturing us now. We will see each other another day dear world. Bye.- Fatemah #Aleppo.”
Last night, her Twitter account had disappeared, with a message saying, “Sorry, that page doesn’t exist!” Her followers are fraught with worry over the fate of Alabed and her family, using the hashtag #WhereisBana to raise awareness of her plight.
We sincerely wish that Alabed and her family are safe, but until this very moment, no updates on their condition has surfaced as war continues to affect innocent lives in Syria.
WE SAID THIS: Last month, Alabed attracted the attention of “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling who sent e-books to her after seeing a post in which Alabed mentioned her love for the series.
