Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience
International fashion magazine Vogue Italia has joined forces with The Dubai Mall to host the largest of its kind fashion event in Dubai. All the fashion addicts, shopaholics and fashionistas are invited to attend the most anticipated event of the year, the Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience, taking place in the international fashion destination on Oct. 10 with a series of shows, exhibitions, presentations, events and celebrity appearances.
Franca Sozzani, editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia, said, “I have been working in fashion for more than 25 years and met many designers. I can say there is true talent in the region and I am excited to see more during the mentoring sessions I will be giving in the run-up to the event.”
The opening of the event will show regional design collections as well as international promising designers selected by Vogue Italia. They include: Wadah Al Hajri from Qatar, Mohammed Ashi from Kuwait, Razan Alazzouni from Saudi Arabia, Lulwa Al Amin from Bahrain, Ituen Basi from Nigeria, Simone Rocha from Ireland, Andrea Incontri from Italy and Esme Vie from Russia. The designers will present their collections starting at 6pm at The Fashion Catwalk, an event which will be screened across the mall’s multimedia displays to an expected audience of over 400,000.
Together with the runway shows, the Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience will celebrate an extended retail shopping tour in the form of an Haute Couture exhibition held at the atrium near Bloomingdale’s. It will have unique pieces by Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Armani, Valentino, Giambattista Valli, Chanel, Dior, Elie Saab, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Givenchy.
A further exhibition will be held in the grand atrium of the mall, celebrating 25 years of Vogue Italia by featuring 50 iconic covers along with an area made for VIP clients who will have the opportunity to feel like top celebrities and have their picture taken as the characters of the magazine’s covers.
About 250 participating stores will exhibit merchandise for sale, created especially for the event. Part of the sales will go to Dubai Cares, a project fostered by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE Vice President.
Finally, an exclusive Fundraising Gala Dinner will be held at The Pavilion at the foot of Burj Khalifa, featuring fashion designers and Middle Eastern and international celebrities dedicated to the cause of promoting education in developing countries.
