The Dressing Room

You know that moment when you walk into a mall or a store, and you end up running around in circles because you don’t know what you want to buy? It’s always a matter of; everyone is gonna be wearing this? Or does this look cute enough? And the questions keep coming and coming.

Problem solved ladies! The Dressing Room is here to fulfill your inner diva.

Take a look at what these 4 ladies had to say about their project.

Tell us a little about The Dressing Room?

There are four girls behind the idea of The Dressing Room, Heba El-Bidewy, Nirvana Bebars, Yasmin Bedair and Yasmine Ottouzbeer. It’s mainly a showroom that aims to bring shoppers in Egypt the latest trends from across the world to the tip of their hands.

We also encourage local production by using our fabrics from Lebanon and Spain and creating our own designs and getting them manufactured into top notch ready made garments.

In addition, we have successfully cooperated with booming local young designers such as Queen of Hearts, Bishette Bags, Statement Designs and Ayadina who are currently displaying their products at our showroom.

We also just opened in the North Coast at Diplo 3 in collaboration with Nola Cupcakes and other brands.

Have you always been into fashion?

All four of us have different educational backgrounds and expertise, which has helped us in creating The Dressing Room. Two of the partners has been taking fashion courses over the past couple of years, while the other two focus on the marketing, PR and strategic side of our business.

What inspired you to go through with your project?

Like many of the females in Egypt, we always find ourselves standing in front of our closets right before an event and not knowing what to wear. We’ve gone shopping in Cairo but barely find anything that is simply amazing and for decent prices. At the end, we all get frustrated when we find everyone wearing the same thing in the same place.

This is where the idea came to us, why not create The Dressing Room where we will bring the latest trends from around the world in addition to our own unique designs at good prices.

Is this your main career or is it just a hobby you do on the side?

The Dressing Room is our baby, but at the moment, we haven’t quit our jobs as it has helped us get to where we are today.. It has taken effort, studying, time and encouragement over the past year, and we are all eager to keep focusing on this project because we have very ambitious future plans for The Dressing Room.

The four of us are always available at the showroom throughout the day, and we plan to keep it that way. We don’t want to miss any milestones for The Dressing Room.

Don’t you think that you have a lot of competition? Especially with all the clothes we have in the market now?

Of course we have a lot of competition, but we believe that competition is very healthy for us as well as our business. It will always keep us on the tip of our toes wanting to be ahead of the game.

What makes you different from all the rest?

As we personally don’t like going somewhere and finding everyone wearing the same thing, our concept is to have no more than six pieces of a single design. We also do not repeat our own designs, instead we always come up with new and different ideas.

One of our benefits is that the four of us have different styles, and therefore, we are able to cater to all tastes and ages; our clientele is very diverse.

How would you describe the clothes you provide?

The first thing that comes to mind is “Unique” and “Diverse.” This is from our point of view as well as the feedback from our buyers.

Our fist collection rocketed with our chiffon cover-ups, which were sold out within the first two weeks.

We provide beachwear, casual clothes, as well as party clothes at good prices and top notch quality.
