Bella Hadid Shares Her Battle With Chronic Autoimmune Disease

The stunning Palestinian-Dutch supermodel Bella Hadid is sharing with her fans and the public without holding back, her battle with the chronic immune disease she is suffering with. One of the autoimmune diseases Bella Hadid suffers from is Lyme disease, which she has previously referred to as an “invisible” condition. We hear a lot about diseases, but only a few celebrities actually share or open up honestly about what they’re going through, especially if it’s a chronic issue.

But what is Lyme disease? Lyme disease is caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi and rarely, Borrelia mayonii. It is transmitted to humans through a bite of infected black-legged ticks. Typical symptoms include fever, headache, fatigue, and a characteristic skin rash called erythema migrans.

Bella Hadid courageously shared some photos on Instagram of herself during an IV session.“Living with a few chronic autoimmune diseases = always finding time for my IVs,” she said.

The Palestinian-Dutch model was diagnosed with the disease in 2012, and her younger brother Anwar Hadid, as well as her mother Yolanda Hadid, also suffer from the same condition.
