‘Shokah we Sekina’ Wins First Prize at Tayarah Short Film Workshop in GFF
Tayarah’s short film workshop was held as part of El Gouna Film Festival’s CineGouna platform with the aim to support aspiring filmmakers. Earlier today, Tayarah’s jury panel announced the names of its winners.
The first place prize went to Shokah we Sekina’s (Knife and Fork) script by Adam Abdelghafar — it should be noted that the winning script will be fully-produced and distributed online by the company as an award during 2018.
Tayarah’s jury panel included screen starlet Hend Sabry, director Amr Salama, scriptwriter Tamer Habib, Tayarah’s managing director Mohamed El Bassiouni, Pakistani director Mridu Chandra, and Vodafone Egypt’s head of products and services Yosr Taher.
More than 700 film projects applied to participate in the workshop during the 12-day application period before El Gouna Film Festival, and only five film projects were shortlisted to attend: Shokah we Sekina by Adam Abdelghafar, Outrage Behavior by Khaled Khellah, Cinderella by Youssef Nasser, A Big Red Button by Mohamed Gamal and Cockroach in The Room by Seif El Deen Hazem.
