Since his visit to Israel, there has been a major global outcry over Elon Musk’s stance towards Israel and the ongoing Gaza genocide. The statements he made during the visit shocked the world especially when he said that the Israeli government “tries to avoid killing civilians.” Yet the death toll of at least 15,000 Palestinians proves otherwise. In response to Musk, a Hamas Senior Official invited the US billionaire to visit the Palestinian Gaza Strip so that he could see the extent of the destruction and violence that has been caused by Israeli forces.
During a press conference in Beirut, Hamas’ Senior Official, Osama Hamdan delivered a clear message to Musk, “We invite him to visit Gaza to see the extent of the massacres and destruction committed against the people of Gaza, in compliance with the standards of objectivity and credibility.”
The urge and call for Musk to visit Gaza isn’t one that was merely driven by his visit to Israel but by his stance towards Israel which he made blatantly clear all over X (formerly Twitter). Back on November 15, he tweeted and endorsed a post that accused Jews of “hatred against whites.” He followed that by endorsing a post that said “Everyone is allowed to be proud of their race, except for white people.” He was met with major backlash and in response, major US companies including Walt Disney suspended their advertisements on X.
Today, Musk is currently in Israel, continuing his visit and touring the site of the Hamas’ October 7 assault on Israel – Kfar Aza kibbutz. The world is waiting to see how he will respond to the invitation made by Hamdan.
