Maria’s note: Arab Cartoonists Approached

“Cartoonist Capture the Arab Revolutions” is a beautifully done series on Arab cartoonists. Produced by Samar Media, these five personal interviews of around seven minutes each, present the most personal side of the cartoonists. Arab cartoonists have strongly contributed to spread the spark of the revolution since the very beginning of the uprisings. Moreover, they have encouraged people to raise their voices against submission and injustice. Very critical with the political regimes of their countries, these cartoonists have dared to face the risks that theirjob entails. 

The featured cartoonists are Ali Ferzat (Syria), Georges Bahgory (Egypt), Ali Dilem (Algeria), Nadia Khiari (Tunisia) and Z (Tunisia). Enjoy them.
