From Educational Podcasts to Read-Alouds, Here’s How to Survive Homeschooling Your Kids
With schools being closed all around the country due to the pandemic, parents are currently struggling to find a way to keep their kid’s educational routine flowing, trying their best to find eligible sources and equitable learning opportunities to enrich the minds of their little ones. If you’re one of those parents who’re now homeschooling their kids, don’t worry because we’re here to help you keep your kids engaged and everyone in the house sane.
The most important step is to design a space and set a schedule for the kids. Don’t be too strict, let the kids have their usual daily routine, you can set around three hours a day for a good educational timeframe. Free online educational resources are also an amazing way to broaden your kids’ minds, but remember, don’t overwhelm yourself by uploading tons of PDFs and videos, instead start by prioritizing your kids’ needs and the things they’re actually passionate about, try to look for resources that will keep them connected and engaged like dance classes or piano lessons.
Try to bring the outside into your home. According to reports, “The educator support group, We Are Teachers, recently drew attention to 25 different nature webcams that have been set up at various zoos around the US, allowing anybody to tune in and see what the animals are up to.” So if you can’t take the kids to the zoo for example, the museum or even art galleries, there are many entities offering virtual tours to help you cope.
