Exotic Flavors for Cocktails and Drinks: Summer 2019

We are in the middle of summer and the high temperatures force us to search for refreshing drinks. We are young and bored of ordinary things. This is the reason why we look for options that fit out of the mold and make us live a different experience.

Drinks with exotic flavors are the most striking. We have run into Monin flavored syrups in our quest to find flavors that are close to what we have described. I bet that just a few have thought to make a drink flavored with agave nectar or lavender. Although, surely more than one does love the taste of Blue Curacao.

Lavender syrup

Lavender is very popular for its medicinal properties. This plant is also known for the calming properties that it carries, its soothing smell, and its remarkable purple color. It has been used since ancient times as a nervous system relaxer, as an antidote against snake venom, and to detoxify the body, among many others.

In addition to being used for medicinal purposes, lavender is used to flavor edibles and beverages. Monin has recognized the various properties of lavender and has developed a Lavender Syrup. It has a strong but authentic lavender flavor, is kosher, and is made with high-quality products.

Knowing this, a lavender sip sounds too tempting. But how can we mix it? While navigating on the Monin website, we found multiple recipes. The drink recipe that called our attention was the “Bees a Buzzing.” Making it was simple. You take 2 ounces of dried gin, ½ ounce of Monin Honey Syrup, ½ ounce of Monin Lavender Syrup, ¾ ounce of Aquafaba or chickpea juice, and ¾ ounce of fresh lemon juice. Tada! That sounds mouthwatering, right? Just add a fresh lavender sprig, a lemon slice, and a sugar rimmer. Mix it all without ice, add ice and shake a bit to chill it out and serve it in a chilled glass. Now your buzz will be ready to enjoy!

In addition to Lavender Syrup, Monin has another variety of a peculiar flavor–Agave Syrup.

Agave is a plant of the succulent family that grows in Mexico. It contains anti-inflammatory properties. Its consumption can help strengthen the immune system. This plant is well known for being the one which tequila comes from. Also, it is good for treating problems related to the digestive system. In addition, despite its sweet taste, it has a low impact on blood glycemic levels.

Agave nectar has also reached great popularity because it is a vegan alternative to honey. The Monin Agave Syrup is the perfect blend between sweetness and full flavor. You can create drinks like “Agave Latte” (coffee). Just add 20 ml of Agave Syrup, 5 oz of milk and 33 oz of coffee. Pour the syrup in a glass, steam the milk until frothy, and pour it over the syrup. Finally, add the coffee over and serve. It should give about four servings to enjoy with your peers.

Finally, we have a striking Blue Curacao.

Curacao is an island in the Caribbean located a few miles away from Venezuela. Although it belongs to the Netherlands, this island has its own autonomy. The blue beaches and tropical landscapes are its main attraction for tourists. If you have the opportunity to visit this lovely island, you will be able to confirm it. Monin’s Blue Curacao Syrup is inspired by the famous drink with the same name. Like that drink, the taste of Monin’s syrup transports you to the beautiful island of Curacao. Its color emulates the blue skies and beaches of the island. The subtle orange flavor makes it perfect for mixing with cocktails, lemonades, and sodas.

Here is a diverse variety of flavors for any picky palate. Millennials know that the best things are hidden in diversity. To find this diversity on any of the several flavor alternatives of Monin syrups is fascinating. Agave syrup for morning coffee, Blue Curacao to light up the party, and Lavender to calm down the hype.

WE SAID THIS: We want to try them all!
