For years, we’ve been lost and confused when it comes to kahk. The struggle is so much worse in the 2000’s with all the bakeries we get to choose from. However, just in time for Eid, Hagar Says posts yet another fabulous kahk review which just happens to be even better than last year’s.

Our Hagar is a dedicated lover who doesn’t take the kahk business lightly. She is so organized and her annual reviews are a must-read. According to Hagar, this is what we should expect from what Khloe Kardashian refers to as snowballs.

Salé Sucré Pâtisserie

Via Sarah Abdel Salam

Price: EGP 150/kilo

Review: The kahk is sweet and smooth, with different fillings and sizes. The flavor is simply perfect. Hagar highly recommends it.

La Poire Egypt

Via Sarah Abdel Salam

Price: EGP 200/kilo

Review: This year, it seems that the dessert has a rougher texture and the flavor doesn’t feel right. Over-priced.

Sedra

Via Sarah Abdel Salam

Price: EGP 115/kilo

Review: Sedra’s kahk is not one of Hagar’s favorites due to it’s rough and flat texture. If you’re into velvety smooth kahk, this is not for you.

El Abd Patisserie

Via Sarah Abdel Salam

Price: EGP 95/kilo

Review: Recommended for those who seek a minimum flavor and less sugar.

Thomas Pâtisserie

Via Sarah Abdel Salam

Price: EGP 110/kilo

Review: First time Hagar’s tries it and according to her it’s fine, just needed less sesame.

Choco Chocolat

Via Sarah Abdel Salam

Price: EGP 280/kilo

Review: This is the most expensive kahk you’ll find, however, Hagar believes it’s a completely different experience. This year however she senses a new flavor, cinammon maybe, yet she remains a big fan.

Coppermelt

Via Sarah Abdel Salam

Price: EGP 140/kilo

Review: Hagar stands her ground. She still doesn’t like Coppermelt’s kahk as it is packed with sesame.

TBS (The Bakery Shop)

Via Sarah Abdel Salam

Price: EGP 170/kilo

Review: Yet another snowball that didn’t do it for the reviewer. She believes it is more of a cookie than an Egyptian delicasy.

Tseppas

Via Sarah Abdel Salam

Price: EGP 110/kilo

Review: The kahk will not leave a memorable impression. It is quite rough and flavorless.

Tiramisu patisserie

Via Sarah Abdel Salam

Price: EGP 115/kilo

Review: Soft, smooth and tasty just as our favorite Eid lady likes it.

WE SAID THIS: Hagar Says promises to update her review after tasting another delicious kahk from Xoufood – Xou’s edible art.
